5e Subclass: Marksman, Artificer

Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

During times of war and strife, scientific advancements can lead entire nations to prosper or to ruin. Some of these scientists, however, do not feel content to sit idly by and watch their world wither away. Taking up their magical weapons, such artificers have become masters of dealing death from afar. They use their own sciences of ranged combat to deploy a variety of debilitating effects and alter the fundamentals of weaponry to perform truly impossible tasks with ease.

Sometimes you need to pull something out of thin air when your players inevitably take the story in a direction you were not expecting. That’s what this practice is for. I have found that playing in these tables regularly not only gets me used to rolling on the fly, it also gives me a selection of locations I can tap into that I can grab out of my head or notes.

Heroes of the Infinite Planes

Now available for Fantasy Grounds Unity!

Character Options from Across the Multiverse!

45 new subclasses, 30 backgrounds, 34 new spells, and cultural overviews!

Heroes_SmCover.jpg

The planes hold an abundance of wonders, treasure, and excitement, enough to fill any campaign with untold sights, riches beyond compare, and horrendous monsters never before seen. These aspects are the purview of the Dungeon Master, who has an infinite sandbox with which to play around and construct extraordinary settings in which to stage countless stories.

But what about the players? There’s no reason to leave them out – they’re the stars of the show after all! The multiverse holds infinite varieties and possibilities ranging from just off from standard to the truly bizarre. Heroes of the Infinite Planes helps you harness those possibilities and build a character cut from a wholly different cloth.

Within these pages are new subclass options for all 13 of the base classes in D&D, along with overviews of the cultures found throughout the planes. New backgrounds are provided to ground a character in the multiverse, and over 30 new spells can be found to allow a magic-using character to grab hold the planes and make it do their bidding – for a short time, at least.

Contents in Brief

This book provides options for characters inspired by or set within the infinite planes of the multiverse.

Chapter 1 Cultures of the Infinite Planes reviews the races found in D&D and how they fit into the larger multiverse. No new features or attributes are provided here, with the full statistics reserved for the original cited source material, but you’ll find information regarding the unusual races of Mythic Odysseys of TherosEberron: Rising from the Last War, and Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica among other sources.

Chapter 2 Classes of the Infinite Planes includes 45 new subclasses spread across the spectrum of the 13 base classes: artificer, barbarian, bard, cleric, druid, fighter, monk, paladin, ranger, rogue, sorcerer, warlock, and wizard. Each class has its own dedicated section with information on how the class features on the planes, such as highlighting organizations, groups, and legends.

Chapter 3 Backgrounds of the Infinite Planes provides six fully detailed new backgrounds for characters to select, representing core backgrounds not easily replicated from existing material. These backgrounds include the Astral Drifter, Deep Miner, Dream Savant, Former

Dungeon Backdrop: Onyx Prison of the Demon King (5e)

Publisher: Raging Swan Press

A GM’s Resource by Bart Wynants

Legends tell of Blackshard Hold—a dwarven redoubt nested far to the south, in the all but impenetrable Forest of Gray Spires. The dwarves of clan Kildare built the hold around a vast monolith of glimmering black onyx. For years, they dwelled there, mining the precious stone and accruing wealth from trading with Dulwich, Wellswood, and even the city of Languard, far to the north. Then, Kildare and his kin suddenly abandoned Blackshard Hold, claiming some eldritch horror lay imprisoned therein. Hah! As if dwarves wouldn’t tunnel to the very depths of hell itself if there was any gold to be won! Mark my words, adventurers—those tall tales of captive demons are nothing but the cheapest of wards, meant to dissuade the faint of heart. There’s precious onyx in that old burrow yet, and it belongs to the brave!

This Dungeon Backdrop is designed to work with the Ashlar campaign setting but can be easily inserted into almost any fantasy campaign.

About Dungeon Backdrops

You are a GM, but you are busy. You want to write your own modules, but you just don’t have the time. And you don’t want to use commercial modules. You want to make your campaign your own. That’s where the Dungeon Backdrop line comes in! Each Dungeon Backdrop presents a fully fleshed out and lovingly detailed self-contained dungeon ready for you to use as you see fit. Stock the dungeon with your own monsters (and—perhaps—their treasure), decide their back story and you are good to go.

Every Dungeon Backdrop is carefully designed to be easily inserted into almost any fantasy campaign. Dungeon Backdrops: we describe the dungeon, you add the monsters (and the treasure).

This product is a Dual Format PDF. It comes in two different versions: one optimised for printing and use on a normal computer and one optimised for use on a mobile device such as an iPad.

Having the settlements name and street details is all well and good, but what about the town itself? What sort of defenses does it have? What is the law like? How many people live there? All these questions and more can make coming up with a settlement a daunting task.
The Settlement Overview is designed not to make a full layout for you, but to give you a framework to start with and give you room to grow and expand your cities and towns as you play in them. After all, what’s the point of making a detailed plan of your city if the party is only going there once?
This covers various aspects of the overview for your settlement

Psychopomp: a Sorcerer origin

Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

Many higher powers utilize the services of chosen beings to collect the souls of the recently deceased and ferry them to their final resting place. These beings, known as Psychopomps, are tasked to track down lost souls and deliver them to the many realms of death. Psychopomps may have different tasks their deity has asked them to carry out, such as studying the forces that cause death on the mortal planes, hunting down unruly undead, or traveling great distances to capture souls from the far reaches of the world. Though the job of Psychopomp is a dangerous one, at least they know exactly what awaits them in the end.

psychopomp – a sorcerous origin

  • includes options of three different psychopomp forms: the knowledge-seeking coyote, the combat-heavy deer, and movement-based raven
  • includes subclass spells at levels 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 for all psychopomps and for each of the three forms

Blasdel’s 19th of 20 Mini-Campaigns

Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

Welcome to the 19th of my 20 part series!!!

Ever have a new group of players, and you’re just not sure if starting a whole campaign is the best way to go?  Have a few missing players, but the rest of you still want to game?  Your world building software is on the fritz, but you still need something cool and original?  Then try my games!

Each Mini-Campaign is designed for the same level of player characters.  They are each an individual adventure, and they can be easily changed to best fit your group.

19th of 20: Eager for excitement and bored of the relatively uneventful Western trail along the Border Forest, the party hires a guide to take them to the abandoned city of Ravaerris.  The city is so ancient that the city walls and buildings have almsot eroded away, but a pristine ivory fountain rests in the center of it.  The curious party is transported through time by the fountain, and they get to see first hand what the Calamity was like.  Hopefully, they’ll survive it to tell the tale.
