Subversions: Oath of Objectivity Paladin

Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

Most classes come pre-packaged with the expectation that they align with particular archetypes. Barbarians rage, spellcasters struggle to defend themselves, and rogues are small and sneaky. But there’s so much versatility within the classes if only you stretch your imagination. These subclass options help to subvert expectations and allow expansive options for your own unique style.

This PDF contains the Oath of Objectivity Paladin subclass. Maintaining proper perspective and distance allows for uncanny insight and clarity. And also- Ranged Smites!

The Oath of Objectivity is a path that few dare to tread. Eschewing emotions as fickle and deceptive, one who takes up the mantle of Objectivity instead swears to neutrality in conflict  until an unbiased judgment can be made. Paladins who follow the Objectivist’s oath maintain a  watchful eye against deception, treachery, and prejudice. While lies exist and truth is hidden,  his paladin’s job is not done.

Paladins who swear the Objectivist’s oath are coveted as impartial judges and arbiters of disputes, both relational and political. Few who have nothing to hide would ever tum away the judgment of an objective paladin. All matters are promised to be considered with utmost care, ensuring that truth will always win out in the end.

Cathedral battle map w/Fantasy Grounds support

Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

CATHEDRAL BATTLEMAPScircle.png

1Asset-1.png

This is a dark, ominous cathedral. It could be a good cathedral, but seems more likely it’s evil. There are three alternate versions of this cathedral. One is the same cathedral again with a human sacrifice in progress. One is an icy cold version, and the last is a green death version.

What’s Included:

  • Four .jpg maps 30 x 60  (3000 x 6000)
  • Fantasy Grounds .mod file which has all of the maps, the grid data, and line of sight.

FAQ:

Do these maps work with Roll20/Foundry/XXX virtual tabletop?

You can import the JPG files into any system you use to play your games online that allows them, however, if you want to use the .mod file with the grid and line of sight data you will need to use Fantasy Grounds Unity.  If you use Foundry VTT, check out my Patreon!

How do I use the .mod File?

  1. When you open up Fantasy Grounds Unity, before you load anything else up, click on the folder in the top left corner of your screen.
  2. This will open the place on your computer the Fantasy Grounds file are saved. Drag the .mod file into the folder called “modules”.
  3. Once you load your game, in the bottom right you should be able to choose Library —> Modules and choose the file you just added.

Missed Free RPG Day? Never Fear!

Free RPG Day 2022 was amazing! We want to thank all of you who made it into your FLGS and picked up the latest and greatest from all of your favorite publishers—including Goodman Games! We not only had the two books created just for the day—Danger in the Air for DCC RPG by Michael Curtis, and Fifth Edition Fantasy: The Three-Wizard Conundrum for 5E by Mihailo Tesic—but two additional books that you were able to purchase as well: Fifth Edition Fantasy #20: One Night in the Sinister Citadel and DCC #101: The Veiled Vaults of the Onyx Queen.

But we do realize that not everyone was able to find a store near them that was participating in this year’s event, and we have good news for you.

We will have PDF versions of both of the Free RPG Day releases available in late July! You’ll be able to purchase them from any of the online sites that carry Goodman Games releases, so keep an eye out!

And if you are really wanting a print version, we hope to be offering any leftover print copies for sale sometime after Gen Con. We won’t know until then how many—or if there are any—print copies left, but as soon as we do, we’ll be sure to share that with everyone!

Once again, thank you for an amazing Free RPG Day! And it’s already less than a year until the next one!

RageCon Recap

Nevada is known for gaming — but Goodman Games brought a whole other sort of gaming to Sparks, Nevada, on-site for RageCon 2022, the Reno Area Gaming Expo! Three days of family-friendly tabletop gaming took place at the Nugget Casino Resort, and DCC, MCC, OAR, 3PP, and more were there in the Goodman Games booth.

Folks took their chances with The Chained Coffin, went up Against the Atomic Overlord, and tumbled through a Hole in the Sky. Hopefully, Lady Luck (middle name: Burn) smiled on all of them!

And no less a celebrity than R2-D2 hung out in the neighborhood of Lankhmar all weekend. Even droids from a long time ago and far, far away know quality when they see it.

We’d like to thank Newt and the entire RageCon team and volunteers for making the convention run smoothly all weekend for all in attendance. Hope to see you there next year, Reno Area gamers!

June 28, 2022: CEO Phil Reed Joins Kickstarter Advisory Council

Recently our own Phil Reed, CEO of Steve Jackson Games, joined the inaugural Community Advisory Council for Kickstarter. This board is designed to bring in a variety of creator voices, not just from tabletop but from the gamut of industries using Kickstarter to fund their projects. Phil obviously has a ton of experience running crowdfunding projects with SJ Games, but some of you folks may not know that he frequently runs his own campaigns, featuring lots of tabletop roleplaying games and some of the most unique items on the platform (did somebody say MiniDisc?).

Of course, Phil is still our CEO. This will just be another of the many hats he wears. Congratulations, Phil!
