Palace of the Silver Princess – Colored Battlemaps and 5E Conversion

Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

This download is a series of colored battlemaps for both the original Orange Version and the Green Version of the Palace of the Silver Princess adventure, as well as a 5E conversion for both version, and my suggestion for using BOTH versions together to create a much more interesting adventure that I refer to as the Brown Version.

Both versions continue a Dungeon Map and an Upper Level Map, and some of the maps have some alternative versions (different seasons), and each map comes with versions that have grids and that have no grids, as well as versions with lighting on and with the lighting off. There are also a couple of versions that have been split in two to make them easier to upload onto Roll20. For the main versions I’ve provided the grid dimensions below for easier upload onto Roll20.

These maps were produced using Dungeondraft. The grid sizes for each maps are presented below (for easy upload into Roll20). NOTE: the dungeon maps are too large to upload onto Roll20, so I’ve provided a split version for those maps, which can easily be uploaded in two parts and put together on Roll20 so long as the grid sizes below are used:

The Orange Version Dungeon Map Size: 91 wide – 128 long

The Orange Version Upper Level Map Size: 84 wide – 138 long

The Orange Version Tower Level: 43 wide – 43 long

The Green Version Dungeon Map Size: 86 wide – 116 long

The Green Version Upper Level Size: 53 wide – 77 long

The Great Trial (Fantasy Grounds)

Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

Now for Fantasy Grounds!

“This is truly an epic undertaking and a seriously awesome adventure, which is impressively both a love letter to old skool dungeons and their creators both in and out of game.” –  Curse of Sebs

“There is a little bit of something for everyone in this adventure, and it is really fairly priced for what you get!” – Comics, Clerics, & Controllers d20 Roll: Nat 20

The Great Trial is a 5e adventure for characters starting at 7th-level and ending at 10th-level. It’s a dungeon consisting in the 3 levels, where the first level is the lowermost one and the last is the uppermost one:

  • First level is composed by mean traps, puzzles and combat;
  • Second level is a labyrinth with a construct Minotaur – the Minotal – and an iron wyvern, brand new creatures;
  • The last and uppermost level is actually a jungle-like demi-place filled with dinosaurs in an open world format.

Aenor Gleenwith, a powerful elf wizard, wants to make history alongisde Acererak for his Tomb of Horror and Halaster for his Undermountain. So he created his own dungeon. To test its efficiency, he captures adventurers and puts them in the lowermost level, where they need to work together to survive and leave the dangerous place. At the end, Aenor himself greets the group offering them apologies for the harm caused, to fix all damage caused and also rewarding them for the forced help.

This module can be run in any setting, campaign, or as a one-shot. It should take around 10 to 14 hours to complete it since it contains 3 Chapters.

What’s included?

  • A fully coded Fantasy Grounds & Fantasy Grounds  Unity module with the adventure itself with quality maps and 6 new creatures
    • Level 1: DM, player and light versions

Any feedback or comment on the adventure is most welcome!

My Revised Arcane Archer – a 5e Wizard subclass

Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

As a past Pathfinder player, the 5e Arcane Archer is subpar in my eyes. Its loss of spellcasting takes away from the point of an ARCANE archer, and the subclass itself just doesn’t do enough to measure up to other archer characters.

As a wizard subclass, you have full access to magic, including Ranger spells. You gain bow and arrow proficiency and the ability to cast spells through them, Extra Attack, homing and phasing arrows, and even learn to create your own Arrows of Slaying.

Please leave a review and let me know what you think.

Yig’s Teeth: A Call of Cthulhu Scenario for Down Darker Trails

Publisher: Chaosium

In the town of Republic, the wild hooting and hollering of cowboys enjoying themselves in the Ruby Saloon and Dancehall is interrupted by furious hissing and a terrifying rattle. Father Yig has come to The Ruby! Will the investigators survive the night? Or will Yig’s coils and fangs spell doom for this small town?

Inspired by the writing of Louis L’Amour, the HBO series Deadwood, and the Weird Westerns of Robert E Howard, Yig’s Teeth pits the Investigators against ancient serpent person magic and a mighty avatar of Yig. With plenty of combat and stealth, and only minimal investigation, the scenario has a very pulpy, monster-hunt feel, but in Yig’s Teeth the monster is hunting the Investigators!

The scenario usually runs in a session of four to six hours of play and is designed for three to six investigators.

Yig’s Teeth is designed for use with the 7th Edition Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game, using the Down Darker Trails setting, though that supplement is not necessary to run the scenario.

Yig’s Teeth includes:

  • Six pre-generated Investigator’s for players to choose from;
  • Detailed maps depicting the important locations of Republic and the interior of The Ruby Saloon and Dancehall;
  • Handy charts of random names to generate citizens of Republic and patrons of The Ruby Saloon;
  • Improvised weapons to create the chaotic excitement of a barroom brawl;
  • Gambling and alcohol use rules to simulate the activities found in an Old West saloon;
  • Advice on how to run and present the scenario, including how to convert Yig’s Teeth to Pulp Cthulhu.

Craig Lawson has written numerous short stories for Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition, Delta Green: The Role-Playing GameCthulhu Invictus, and many more, though they’re mostly locked up safe on his hard drive. This is Craig’s second scenario.

December 31, 2020: Goodbye, 2020

It’s time to say goodbye (and good riddance) to the year that was 2020. And the best way to do that is by playing Illuminati . . . 2020! Now that 2020 is in the rear-view mirror, we can all laugh about it, right? Right?! Well, we hope so, because the 2020 expansion for Illuminati Second Edition adds a collection of cards relevant to the year – in parody and reference alike.

We’re acquainted with mocking conspiracies, politics, and events in Illuminati, but never before have things been so buck-wild that we were able to produce an entire expansion three-quarters of the way through a year, about that very same year. 2020 was just that bizarre. You can pick up Illuminati 2020 on Warehouse 23 (our online store), and make sure you have the matching base game, Illuminati Second Edition, which features updated references that also bring it into the more modern era of the last decade.

Here’s to a safe, and hopefully sane, 2021!
